Термы и фонтаны

Римские водопроводы и термы — бесценное наследие античности. Во время прогулки по центру города мы попробуем проследить путь воды сквозь века: от гигантских имперских бань до самого знаменитого фонтана Рима. Термы Диоклетиана когда-то были крупнейшим банным комплексом империи. Сегодня это удивительное пространство, где античные руины продолжают жить новой жизнью: часть терм превращена в музей, часть — в величественную церковь, перестроенную по проекту Микеланджело. Здесь особенно ясно ощущается любимая римская идея — не разрушать прошлое, а встраивать его в новую эпоху. Продолжением этого рассказа станет фонтан Треви — грандиозный финал многовековой истории римской воды. Его шум, движение и театральная красота скрывают сложную инженерную систему, уходящую корнями ещё в античность. Здесь древний водопровод превращается в барочный спектакль, где сама вода становится главным героем Рима

This is a shortened version of the complete trail along alpine mule trails up to Splügen Pass (2,115m), which connects these two countries with the most beautiful of borders. But our Via Spluga short break still takes in the trail’s valleys, gorges and waterfalls all the way into Lombardy. This trip is a favourite with our dog-walking customers, not just because it’s a moderate level trail, but also because it’s reachable by rail if you are travelling from within Europe.
